Backyard Bird Feeding

This big guy has taken up residence at the top of one of our feeders. There was a different bird that used to "own" these three feeders, but this guy just moved in on Sunday and has been sitting here all day. I can see their little aerial dogfights out of my kitchen window...very entertaining. Although i do feel bad for the previous bird who lost his post, you have to admire Guido's moxy.

Hee hee hee- I love your name for him! I wish my hummers were around when I am- they've stopped coming in the morning so I never see them. :(

Dude, this guy sits there all day long. The perch's previous owner only came in the morning and evening, but this big guy was there nearly every time I walked by. SOMEONE'S got a big head, I think...

A lot of people have guard dogs, but how many of them have guard birds like Guido? ;)

We were sitting outside last night and he was angrily chirping at us. Vicious.

I was surprised at just how aggressive those guys are when they first started visiting our feeders. One even chased off a downy woodpecker so it could check out the suet feeder.

Dana, thanks for posting the link to your blog. I've bookmarked it to peruse at great length.
